STATESBORO, GA – Charleston Southern women's tennis fell to Georgia Southern on the road Saturday afternoon, 5-2, to drop the Bucs to 0-2 away from home early in the 2022 campaign.

The match started with Charleston Southern (2-2) making quick work of the doubles segment, taking the doubles point with wins at #2 and #3 doubles as
Zoe Cauthen and
Tiffany Pyritz won 6-3 in the second flight and
Noa Boyd and
Amila Jusufbegovic cliched the point with a 6-3 result in the third flight.

In singles play, Georgia Southern (2-2) rebounded to take five of the six possible points to lead the comeback charge. The Bucs got its lone singles point in the fourth flight, as Boyd played to a 6-4, 7-5 result. The Eagles recorded singles wins at flights the top three flights and flights five and six.

Georgia Southern picks up the win after the two sides met a season ago, as Charleston Southern earned the 4-3 victory in the last matchup. The Eagles lay claim to the 6-2 overall series advantage after the win in this afternoon's clash.Â

The Bucs welcome Coastal Carolina to the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center in their fifth non-conference match of the spring campaign Wednesday, February 16 in a noon start.Â
