COLUMBIA, S.C. – Charleston Southern women's tennis traveled to Columbia for its third match in as many days, taking on South Carolina in a non-conference affair. The Bucs fell 6-1, keeping them winless on the road after a perfect 4-0 record at home. 
 
The match started with South Carolina (4-2) taking the doubles point as the Gamecocks took flights one and two. Luiza Fullana and Laura Marti were up 5-3 in the third flight, but that match was unfinished.
 
In singles play, Charleston Southern (4-3) avoided the sweep as Amila Jusufbegovic took the tiebreaker 10-5 at #6-singles. Jusufbegovic's win gave the Bucs just their second point against South Carolina in five total meetings. 
 
South Carolina sports a trio of top-125 rated singles players, as #2-ranked Sarah Hamner won at the first singles flight, #43-ranked Ayana Akli won at the second singles flight and #109-ranked Elise Mills won at the fourth singles flight.
 
The Bucs now look forward to their second Big South match, as Head Coach Anca Dumitrescu's side plays host to Longwood. The conference affair is slated for a 1 p.m. start at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center Sunday, February 27.
