Charleston Southern Shifts Focus to Non-Conference Play; Host Mercer

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Mercer stands as the next tilt for Head Coach Anca Dumitrescu's side, as Charleston Southern women's tennis returns home to the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center. The non-conference match is set for a 10:00 a.m. start Wednesday, March 9.

BALANCED SCHEDULE
Charleston Southern has six remaining non-conference affairs left on the campaign, one more than the five Big South tilts remaining. The Bucs bring a 3-3 non-conference record into the match with wins over College of Charleston, Wofford and South Carolina State.

ANOTHER EARLY AFFAIR
The 10:00 a.m. start stands as the second-straight match starting before noon for the Bucs, the only two times it is scheduled as such. Charleston Southern made quick work of the first 10:00 a.m. match, beating Hampton 7-0 Monday morning.

THE WAY OF THE BUCS
The two sides have only met one previous time, as Charleston Southern pulled out a 4-3 victory over Mercer in Macon, Georgia back in 2017. Mercer's trip to Charleston will be the first in its program's history.
