Williamsburg, Va. – Charleston Southern opened their 2022-23 season at the William & Mary Invitational on Monday and Tuesday and placed third among the ten team field.
Madison Freeman (+5) led the Bucs through the 54 hole tournament, finishing tied for 10th.
Caroline Engelbredt (+6) was just one stroke off of Freeman while
Libby Singleton (+8) and
Elsie Verhoeven (+9) were also within the top 15 of the tournament.
Verhoeven and
Laerke Jensen (+11) led the Bucs through the first round with each posting a 72, the best round for any Buccaneer in the tournament.
"I am very pleased with the ladies first event," said Head Coach
Jordan Jeffers. "We didn't get the outcome we wanted, but we learned a lot about what we need to work on to accomplish the vision for our team. We have a couple weeks before our next event and we look forward to putting in some hard work."
