Tahlik Chavez led all scorers with 22, but it wasn't enough as UNC Asheville outdueled the Bucs in the Buc Dome, 73-63, using a late first half run to create the space necessary.
THINGS GOING EARLY
Charleston Southern had things working early, as the Bucs jumped out to a four-point advantage throughout the early stages of the opening stanza. A pair from the charity stripe from
Claudell Harris Jr. gave the Bucs their biggest lead of the night at five, but Asheville found a late run to flip the script the rest of the way.

OUTSHOOTIN' THE BULLDOGS
Charleston Southern found themselves trailing by five at the first half, but the box at the midway break showed CSU shooting 45% from the field compared to the Bulldogs' 41% from the field. The difference in the half came from three-point land, as Asheville converted five of 11 while CSU hit just one of six attempts.

DOUBLE-DIGITS
Tahlik Chavez stood as the lone Bucs in double figures, marking the first time this season Charleston Southern has failed to have multiple players in double figures after the final whistle. Chavez had a big night, including some energy in the second half as he finished the night with 22 points on 6-10 shooting from the field and 8-9 from the stripe. His eight free throws are also the most he has made in a contest thus far.

BENCH COMIN' ALIVE
The Buccaneers did have a big contribution from its bench, as the reserves outscored Asheville's 28-10. Charleston Southern went nine deep tonight, with seven of the nine playing at least 20 minutes.
RJ Johnson saw the most time on the floor, playing 36 of the possible 40 minutes and finishing with nine points.Â

The Bucs will see the final leg of a two-game homestand Saturday night as they play hosts to Campbell in Big South action. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. in the Buc Dome.
