Under the direction of Head Coach Alex Simmons, the Bulldogs are on pace to finish with the best record in school history, meeting expectations that were placed on them in the preseason. Offense has been their strength this season, as they lead the Big South in scoring, averaging just over 74 points per game. On the contrary, they are giving up an average of about 70 points per game, which is eighth in the conference. That is a point differential of +4, which is second best in the Big South behind Campbell.
Offensively, they are led by Jhessyka Williams, who is averaging a conference-best 19 points per game; however, it was reigning Big South Player of the Week Lauren Bevis that led the Bulldogs to an 86-68 victory over High Point on Saturday. The Senior guard scored 35 points on 14/15 shooting overall from the field, including a perfect 7/7 from beyond the arc. Defensively, they are led by Alasia Smith, who leads the conference in steals with 69.
