GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Charleston Southern men's golf team competed in the Furman Intercollegiate this past weekend, placing 15
th place in a par 71 course totaling 7,005 yards.
The team improved from day one to day two, shooting a 292 and 287, before finishing the third round with a score of 307. They finished the tournament +34 with a final score of 886. Furman took the overall team title at -20 with Chattanooga finishing right behind them at -10.
For Charleston Southern,
Ben Carroll and
Layne Lambert were the team's top finisher, finishing +8 and tied for 50
th overall. Carroll had a 71, 76 and 74 for the weekend, while Lambert shot a 74, 71 and 76.
Jules Gentil had an overall score of 224. He was +11 on the tournament, shooting a 72, 71 and 81 for the weekend.
Dewi John and
Griffin Tarver were both tied for 80
th overall at +16.
The Bucs will host their first tournament of the 2023-24 season next weekend at the Daniel Island Country Club. The tournament will begin on Sunday, October 29
th and conclude on October 31
st.
