The Charleston Southern records for the indoor Mile and 4x400m relay fell over the weekend in Columbia.
Sarah McCartney along with the four-woman relay team toppled two more school records in the third meet of the season.
Sprints/Hurdles
The 4x400m relay team of
Dylann Core,
Maddie St. Louis,
Lauryn James, and
Brenda du Toit now hold the Charleston Southern record for fastest time, clocking in at 3:46.24.
Destiny Wallace ran a new personal best time of 7.52 in the 60m, ranking her fourth in the CSU records. She also finished the 200m in 24.32 and now holds the 8th fastest time in school history. Also with a CSU Top 10 time was
Dylann Core. Before helping set the school record in the 4x4, she finished the 400m in 56.47 and now ranks eighth in program history.
Throws
Layla Senter and Zamaya Carson each competed in the Invite sections of the Shot Put and Weight Throw, respectively. Senter's top mark was 12.63m and Carson's top weight throw was 15.74m.
Distance
Sarah McCartney now owns the CSU record in the indoor mile with a time of 4:54.19 and the second sub-5 min indoor mile in program history.
Zanelle Willemse finished the mile in 5:03.76 and now has the third-best time in CSU history.
Willemse was also part of the Distance Medley Relay team along with
Sophia Cupp,
Emma James, and Taylor White. They completed the race in 12:27.74 and now rank seventh in program history with that time.
Anne Akagi also turned in the second fastest 800m time in CSU history of 2:14.32.
