RALEIGH, N.C. – Charleston Southern completed their second day of racing at the Raleigh Relays on Friday evening. The Bucs' continued to put up strong performances with school records being broken and student-athletes moving into the top ten on the league's all-time performers list for their events.
Keerstin Augustin capped off the night for the Bucs in the women's 10K and had a personal best time of 34:27.00 to claim 27
th overall among the entrees. The time ranks as a new school record for the distance and the seventh best in league history.
Zemaya Carson threw a personal best in the discus with a throw of 50.48m to claim fifth overall at the meet. This broke her previously standing school record in the event and places her at tenth in the conference record books.
Avah Morrison,
Lily Rowan and
Josaphine Ankney were all close to one another with their marks of 39.63m, 39.24m and 38.16m.
Maeva Tahou started the action on the track with a speedy time of 13.61 in the 100m hurdles. She claimed third overall in the event as well.
Grenisha Thomas and Chloe Mae Wilks had times of 14.32 and 14.37 in their races while
Katelyn Grate and
Brenda du Toit crossed the line at 14.59 and 14.68.
Tahou also posted a tremendous time in the 100m dash with an 11.81. Thomas had a season best of 11.89. Grate ran a 12.18 and Danea Niles had a 12.25.
In the 400m,
Maya Clark had a time of 53.79 for seventh overall at the meet.
Caroline Aslerin had a 55.39 and
Barbara de Kock had a career best of 56.90.
In the distance events,
Freya Buglass was the top finisher for the Bucs in the 1500m with a time of 4:33.52.
Lucy McNamara also ran in it and had a 4:48.87.
Elizabeth Shaylor competed in the 3K steeplechase and had an 11:41.72 in it.
