CHARLESTON, S.C. -
Annah Junge followed her outing from Friday with a complete-game shutout on Saturday, as the Charleston Southern softball team took care of business against the Presbyterian Blue Hose with a 5-0 win.
Junge went 7.0 innings without issuing a walk, allowing 5 hits and striking out 5 as the Bucs (19-25, 8-9 in conference) got the series victory.
The Bucs got it rolling in the bottom of the first inning, as
Ashley Meckley led off the inning with a walk. Then, she stole second and came around to score on a
Cadence Walding RBI single.
Walding was not finished, as knocked in her second run in the bottom of the second inning with another RBI single. She came around to score on an RBI double by
Charlee Yourman, making it 3-0. Walding finished the afternoon 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.
Charleston Southern added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, as the Blue Hose (24-17, 5-9 in conference) walked three batters and gave up a hit to make it 5-0.
Yourman was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI, and
BriAnna Brooks added two hits of her own with a run scored.
On Deck
The Bucs will have a two-week break, as their next game is not until Friday, May 5th, when they start a three-game series with the Winthrop Eagles. This will be the final home series of the season.
