Charleston Southern will send 10 athletes to the NCAA East Preliminary this week. It's the second most athletes in the Big South as a part of 33 total athletes representing the conference.

Time

The events start Wednesday morning at 10am with the hammer throw. The track events start at 6pm with the 110m hurdles. Events run the rest of the week through Saturday evening.

Weekend Preview

Four of the Bucs' 10 qualifiers come from the men's side. Michael Calhoun qualified in the shot put after throwing his best mark of the year of 17.85m in the season's first meet, the Charleston Southern Invitational.

Shawn Langley Jr. 's 400m time of 46.27 in the Big South Championships earned him second place at the meet and have now qualified him into the NCAA East Preliminary. Similarly, Luciano Custodio ran his best 400m hurdles time of the year at the conference championship. His conference championship-winning time of 51.26 puts him in the national prelim as well.

Micah Gilpatric ran his season best 10K time of 14:12.85 at the Wake Forest Invitational.

The Facility

Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium will host the NCAA East Preliminaries for the seventh time in its history, all since 2012. As one of 14 World Athletics certified tracks in the United States, Visit Jax Track is one of the country's best venues.
