CHARLESTON, S.C. -  The Charleston Southern baseball team used a walk off from Jaylin Rae to defeat The Citadel on Tuesday night, finishing the season series with a 2-2 record.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Nicholas Fazzari and Ike George singled to put runners on first and second, and Rae knocked in Fazarri with a game-winning RBI single to give the Bucs (20-21, 11-7 in conference)  an 8-7 victory.

Charleston Southern struck first in the bottom of the first inning, as Ashton Wilson knocked a one-out double into left field. Two batters later, Nico Regino brought him in with an RBI single to the shortstop.

Both teams scored in the next three innings, as The Citadel (19-22) tied things up in the top of the second inning with an RBI double. The Bucs responded in the bottom half, taking advantage of an error and a wild pitch that scored Bryce Brock with two outs to make it 2-1.

The Citadel got to Ryan Gleason and Eddie Olsen in the third inning, as a walk, double and hit by pitch started the inning. Then, the Bulldogs took advantage of an error that scored to runs to make it 4-2. The Bucs cut it to one in the bottom half, as Brock hit a sac fly that scored Ernesto Polanco to bring it to within one.

The Bulldogs made it 5-3 in the top of the fourth inning with a double and an RBI single, but the Bucs regained the lead with three runs of their own. With Wilson and Rae on base, Kieran Davis lined a single into left center field, followed by an RBI double by Regino. Two batters later, Connor Aldrich made it 6-5 with an RBI single.

That lead did not last long, as The Citadel got two back in the top of the fifth inning, taking advantage of two Buccaneer errors. The scored stayed at 7-6 until the Bucs tied it up in the bottom of the eighth inning. Rae was hit by a pitch and advanced to third on a single by Tyrell Brewer. Then, Rae scored on a sac fly by Chandler Tuupo
