CHARLESTON, S.C. –
Madisen Mitchum knocks down her first goal of the season with under two minutes left, as the Charleston Southern women's soccer team preserves a 2-2 tie on Monday afternoon against the Jacksonville Dolphins.
Down 2-1 in the 88
th minute, Mitchum tied the match at two when a loose ball got away on the corner kick at the 88:18 mark.
Elin Persson had the assist. That came three minutes after the Dolphins (1-2-1) took the lead in the 85
th minute.
In the first half, the Dolphins scored the match's first goal coming out of the timeout with a goal on a penalty kick. Then,
Fiama Hidalgo scored her team-leading third goal of the season in the 68
th minute to tie the score.
Sydney Thomas was credited with the assist.
Both teams were close in the shots category, as the Bucs (2-1-1) had 12 shots compared to the Dolphins nine. Both teams had six shots on goals and four saves.
Molly Keane had two shots on goal in 66 minutes of play.
