Bucs Cruise in Second Shutout of the Season

DAVIDSON, N.C. -   The defense was flawless again, as the Charleston Southern women's soccer team went on the road and defeated the Davidson Wildcats 2-0 on Thursday night. This was their second shutout win of the season. 


After a scoreless first half, the Bucs (3-1-1) got it going in the second half with a pair of goals in just under four minutes of play. At the 62:00 minute mark, Claire Deangelis scored her second goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Elin Persson. A few minutes later, Dakota Fiedler made it 2-0 with her first goal of the season at the 65:52 mark of the contest.
 
The Bucs had just three shots all night with both shots in the second half going in the goal. The Wildcats (2-3-0) had 10 shots and three shots on goal. Sara Curtis played in all 90 minutes and had three saves to cap off CSU's second shutout of the season.

History Made
Tonight's win was Charleston Southern's first victory over Davidson in school history. They were 0-2 against the Wildcats going into Thursday's match.
