Lamb Earns First Collegiate Win in First Career Start

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Nealy Lamb continued her strong start to her freshman season on Saturday night, as the Bucs went 1-1 in day two of the CSU Kickoff Tournament, dropping the first game by a 4-2 score to Siena and taking the second game against Saint Francis by a 3-1 score.

Game One
It was a pitcher's duel through the first three innings until Siena got on the board in the top of the fourth inning with two runs on three hits. The Bucs (1-3) responded in the bottom of the fifth inning, as Madelyne Lee started the inning with a double to right field. Carsten Sandvig brought her in with an RBI single and got to third base, but the Bucs were unable to get the tying run home.

The Bucs tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Lee brought BriAnna Brooks in with an RBI single to the shortstop. Then, Siena scored two in the seventh inning off of Riley Lauffer, who suffered the defeat going 7.0 innings allowing four runs on eight hits.

Game Two
Lamb pitched a complete game, as she allowed just one first-inning run on a sac fly by the Red Flash (3-1). The Bucs (2-3) got three runs in the bottom of the first inning, as Kendal Cook and Weslin Jones both got on base with infield singles. Then, a bad throw on a bunt by Lee allowed for both runs to score, and a sac fly by Charlee Yourman made it 3-1. Lamb improved to 1-0 with a 7.0 inning, eight strikeout performance, allowing just three hits.
