ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Charleston Southern dropped a Saturday contest at UNC Asheville on Saturday by a final score of 86-55.
Kalib Clinton led the team in scoring as he finished with 16 points for a season-high over just 14 minutes played.
The Buccaneers scored on their first two possessions of the game to get a quick 5-2 lead. After this, the Bulldogs started to get rolling and broke the game open to get to a big advantage. Another slew of UNCA short runs gave them more separation and gave them a 47-23 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Bucs were able to keep it closer. However, the Bulldogs continued to keep up their level of play from the first half and have the final score settle in at 86-55.

A'lahn Sumler join him in double figures with 12. Each of these players had a pair of three-pointers today.
DJ Patrick added nine points as he drilled a trio of shots from behind the arc.
Charleston Southern (4-8) now sits in a tie for fifth with Longwood (4-8) in the Big South standings. They are both half a game up on Presbyterian (4-9), USC Upstate (4-9) and Radford (3-8), with the Highlanders currently playing High Point.
The Buccaneers will look to snap their three-game skid with a trip to Spartanburg, S.C. on Wednesday to take on USC Upstate in the G.B. Hodge Arena. Last time these teams met, the Bucs defeated the Spartans inside the Buc Dome by a final score of 77-70.
