Second-Half Shooting Hurts Bucs in Loss to High Point

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -  After taking a 33-32 lead into the locker room at halftime, the Charleston Southern men's basketball team could not overcome a strong second-half effort from the High Point Panthers on Saturday, falling 74-59 at the Buc Dome on Saturday afternoon.
 
Charleston Southern (9-18, 5-9 in conference) struggled from the field in the second half, shooting just under 27% from the field and were 3/11 from beyond the arc. RJ Johnson led the way with 19 points on 5/16 shooting overall from the field. Kalib Clinton was right behind him 15 points, and Nobal Days led the team in rebounds with seven.
 
High Point (23-6, 12-2 in conference) was dominant on the boards, pulling down 41 rebounds compared to 29 for Charleston Southern. Neither team pulled too far ahead in the first half, as the largest lead went to the Panthers, when they went up 17-11 with 10:01 left in the first half.
 
 The Panthers outscored the Buccaneers 42-26 in the second half, taking their biggest lead with 2:19 left in the second half with a jumper to go up 72-54.

The Bucs will play their final home game of the season on Wednesday night, as they look to take down Radford for the second time this season. Charleston Southern defeated Radford 63-60 in Virginia back on Jan. 31. Tip-off is at 7 PM and will stream on ESPN+.
