BUIES CREEK, N.C. – #22 Campbell defended their home field against Charleston Southern on Tuesday in a meet up of the former Big South opponents. The final score for the game with the nationally ranked opponents was 15-2 with it going seven innings.
The Fighting Camels got ahead quickly, scoring five runs in the first and then continuing to pile them on throughout the evening to seal their win.
Charleston Southern collected their two runs of the game in the fourth inning off a
BJ Banyon double that scored
Alex Urlaub and
JJ Rivera.
In total, the Bucs had seven hits with
Dakota Miller having the most on the team with two.
Cade Conway,
Gavin Bogdanchik,
Peter Werth, Urlaub and Banyon each had one.
Charleston Southern used five different pitchers in the game with
Tyler Henshaw getting the start in the game.
Ryan Daugherty,
Collin Kratzer,
Chandler Woolridge and
Devin MacWatters also saw time in the contest.
The Buccaneers return to the field this weekend for their second conference series of the season. They will hit the road to North Carolina for the three-game series at UNC Asheville from Friday through Sunday. Each of the games will be made available live on ESPN+.
