MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Charleston Southern men's golf team competed in the General Hackler Championships this week hosted by Coastal Carolina, placing 14th out of 14 teams at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club. Louisville went on to win the tournament with an overall score of 859 (-5)) and Coastal Carolina finished in second place with a score of 864 (E).
Charleston Southern finished +68 with a final overall score of 932. They shot 308 in day one, 313 in day two and 311 in day three. For the team,
Layne Lambert was the best overall finisher finishing +8 while shooting 224 overall (74-75-75). He finished tied for 46th overall in the tournament.Â
The Bucs' next best finisher was
Griffin Tarver, who placed 70th overall shooting +15 with a 74 in round one, 79 in round two and 78 in round three. Then came
Ben Carroll who was +17 for the tournament with an overall score of 233, which placed tied for 77th overall. He finished with a personal-best 74 in round three.
Alex North had a score of 244 with a personal-best 78 in round two.Â
The final tournament of the spring prior to the Big South Championships will be next weekend, when the Bucs compete in the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate in Snow Hill, N.C. starting next Friday, Mar. 29.
