CLINTON – Women's Tennis secured their second Big South victory of the season with a road victory at Presbyterian on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 5-2.
Charleston Southern got out to an early lead by clinching the doubles point with wins on courts #1 and #3.
Noa Boyd and
Amila Jusufbegovic won 6-3 in the topflight which was followed by
Kassandra Di Staulo and
Marina Skegro winning 6-4 in court #3.
In singles play, the Buccaneers were able to get the decisions in four of the matches to clinch the overall victory.
Noa Boyd had the lone result that was decided in straight sets with her winning 6-2, 6-4 from court #3.
Charleston Southern was also able to get points from courts #1, #4 and #6. Jusufbegovic won in the topflight 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. Skegro was in the #4 position and won 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 while Di Staulo was at #6 and took hers 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Presbyterian took the #2 doubles match as well as the #2 and #5 matches in singles play.
The Buccaneers now have nearly a week until their next match, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9 at 1:00 p.m. from Gardner-Webb. This marks the final true away match of the regular season for the team before they return home for their last two of the year against College of Charleston (4/9) and Longwood (4/11).
