CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern women's soccer team opens the 2024 regular season, as they host the Furman Paladins at CSU Soccer Field on Thursday afternoon at 3 PM.
Jose Gomez returns for his fifth year as Head Coach of the women's soccer program, as his team returns 15 players from a 2023 squad that finished with a 9-5-4 record, which were the most wins for the program since 2018. They finished with a 4-2-2 conference record and were one win away from playing in the Big South Championship game.
Jenna Moran returns for her graduate year at the goalie position, as she was picked as the Big South's Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year as well as the Preseason All-Conference list. Also returning to the 2024 squad are
Claire DeAngelis,
Fiama Hidalgo and
Kiah Cirino, who each received conference honors in 2023. DeAngelis led the team in goals scored last season with four and was tied for the team lead in assists with three.
Reese Beggs, who scored two goals in conference play, including the game-winning goal against USC Upstate to send the Bucs to the Big South Tournament, will also be back for her senior year.
