CHARLESTON – The Big South Conference announced the winners of their weekly awards for Cross Country on Wednesday afternoon with them selecting Sarah McCartney as the Women's Runner of the Week.
 
This makes her the winner of the award for back-to-back times following her races this year. This is her third time winning the award for cross country in her career.
 
McCartney ran at the Furman Invitational this past weekend in the 6K. She finished with a time of 21:09.2 in the race as she took 7^th overall in the field to lead the team to third overall in the race.
 
Charleston Southern is now in the midst of three weeks between their next race, the longest stretch of the season. They will head to Greenville, North Carolina to compete in the ECU Pirate Invitational on Friday, October 4 which will be hosted by East Carolina.
