Buccaneers Announce Full 2025 Football Slate on Tuesday Afternoon

CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern football announced their 2025 schedule on Tuesday afternoon as the Bucs are preparing for their third year under Head Coach Gabe Giardina.

The Buccaneers begin the year with a pair of games against FBS opponents. It will start with a trip to Nashville as they face Vanderbilt on August 30 and follow it with a game at Coastal Carolina on September 6. The Commadores' newly renovated home stadium, FirstBank Stadium, was announced as the host site for the upcoming 2026 and 2027 FCS National Championships. The matchup with the Chanticleers will mark a renewal of a former league rivalry within the Big South.

Other nonconference opponents for the year include a game at William & Mary on September 20 and a home game against South Carolina State on September 27.

The home opener for the Buccaneers also will serve as the conference opener for the team as they will welcome Lindenwood to the low country on September 13. This will mark the halfway point in the nonconference schedule for Charleston Southern.

This year's home conference slate also features Tennessee Tech (10/11), Eastern Illinois (10/25) and Tennessee State (11/22) with the matchup with the Tigers' to be the regular season finale.

Charleston Southern will go on the road for Gardner-Webb (10/4), Western Illinois (10/18), Southeast Missouri (11/1) and UT Martin (11/15) in 2025. This year's matchup with the Runnin' Bulldogs will be the second edition of the North/South Barbecue Bowl in the newly formed rivalry between the two schools.

The end of the schedule looks to be one of the toughest in the nation as each of their final three games are against teams that went to the FCS playoffs during the 2024 season. These contests are at SEMO (11/1), at UT Martin (11/15) and home against Tennessee State (11/22). Each of these programs were in the four-way tie for the conference championship last season.

Information on season tickets as well as single game ticket packages will be released later in the year. Continue to check csusports.com for the latest information on Charleston Southern athletics.
