CHARLESTON – The Big South Conference announced the winners for the women's cross country weekly awards on Wednesday afternoon with a pair of Buccaneers sweeping the awards.
Freya Buglass won the Runner of the Week while
Lucy McNamara claimed it for the second time this season.
This past Friday, Charleston Southern traveled to the University of Missouri to take part in the Gans Creek Challenge. Buglass was the first across the line for the Bucs at the race with a personal best time of 21:56.6 to take 66
th overall. McNamara was the fourth for the squad with her time of 23:19.4 to run a new career best.
This is the first time this fall the women's squad has swept the awards this season. Charleston Southern will be back in action on Friday, October 3 as they will compete in the ECU Pirate Invitational with East Carolina to serve as the hosts.
