BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Despite controlling much of the match and outshooting Gardner-Webb by 11, the Charleston Southern women's soccer team fell 1-0 on Saturday afternoon after a late Runnin' Bulldogs goal at Greene-Harbison Stadium.

The Buccaneers dictated possession early and generated several strong looks in the first half, recording seven shots before the break while limiting Gardner-Webb to just three. CSU continued its attack after halftime with 15 more shots, but could not find the back of the net.

The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute when Gardner-Webb's Anya Tribune broke through, giving the hosts the only goal of the match. The Bucs pushed forward late — registering two corner kicks and multiple shots in the final 10 minutes — but goalkeeper Savannah Dixon and the GWU back line stood tall to preserve the result.
