CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern guard
Tyonna Bailey was named to the Big South Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Second Team, it was announced this morning.
Additionally, the Buccaneers were selected to finish fifth in the Big South annual preseason poll as voted by the conference's nine women's head coaches.
Last season, Bailey appeared in 18 games, making one start while averaging 8.9 points per game. She reached double figures in eight of her 18 appearances, showcasing her scoring consistency throughout the year. In her CSU debut at North Carolina on November 4, she went a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, finishing with 11 points and eight rebounds. She logged a career-high 30 minutes at Charlotte on November 18, adding 10 points to her total. Her breakout performance came at Gardner-Webb on January 2, when she poured in a career-high 21 points, including the game-winning basket in the final seconds. She earned her first career start at High Point on January 8, contributing 14 points in 23 minutes of action.
High Point forward Nevaeh Zavala was voted the 2025-26 Big South Conference Women's Basketball Preseason Player of the Year as the Panthers were picked to repeat as conference champions.
