CHARLESTON – The Buccaneers won their fifth match of the 2025 season on Wednesday evening, defeating North Florida by a 4-3 scoreline with the result coming down to the last court. Charleston Southern used the victories on the top four courts to overcome an early deficit and pave the way for the win.
 
The Ospreys got an early lead courtesy of claiming the doubles point with victories on courts #1 and #2 with the #3 going unfinished.
 
The first singles match to be completed was Noa Boyd's as she dominated her opponent from UNF with a 6-0, 6-1 final on court #3. The Ospreys were then able to retake the lead with a straight set victory on court #5. The remaining four singles matches each went on to take three sets to determine their victor.
 
On courts #2 and #4, Charleston Southern's Marina Skegro and Amila Jusufbegovic prevailed, pushing CSU away from a 1-2 deficit to a 3-2 lead. Skegro's result on #2 was 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 while Jusufbegovic's on #4 was 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
 
It took a while for the next matches to conclude, but the visitors drew back even at three apiece as they claimed the win on court #6 with the scoreline reading 3-6, 7-5, 6-4. The result came down to the match in the topflight.
 
The Buccaneers' Emmie Moore was able to push off a loss in the second set off a tiebreaker to win the first and third sets by substantial 6-2 margins and clinch the win for CSU.
 
Charleston Southern will now enjoy a long layoff until their next match which will be Friday, March 7 against Miami (OH). That match will begin a stretch of six matches within an eight-day window.
