Buccaneers Earn Top Seed for Upcoming 2025 Big South Championships

CHARLESTON - Charleston Southern earned the top seed in the upcoming Big South Women's Tennis Championship for the first time since 2022 as was announced on Wednesday evening. The Buccaneers went undefeated against league competition, compiling a 5-0 mark in Big South matches and won the outright regular-season champion for the sixth time in program history. CSU is seeking its first Big South Tournament crown since 2023 and fourth overall.

UNC Asheville earned the #2 seed and are the current defending champions. Rounding out the field are Gardner-Webb at third in the standings at 3-2 for the third seed and Presbyterian in fourth at 2-3 to clinch the No. 4 and final seed in the postseason tournament.

The 2025 Big South Women's Tennis Championship will be played Friday-Saturday, April 18-19 at the Lexington County Tennis Complex in Lexington, S.C. The Big South's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship.  The Championship schedule is as follows and is subject to change:


Friday, April 18 - Semifinals

No. 1 Charleston Southern vs. No. 4 Presbyterian, 9:00am

No. 2 UNC Asheville vs. No. 3 Gardner-Webb, 12:00pm

Saturday, April 19 – Championship

1/4 Winner vs. 2/3 Winner, 12:00pm
