CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern capped off their regular season on Wednesday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over Presbyterian on their senior day. The victory clinched the Buccaneers' outright Big South Regular Season Championship, undefeated conference record and the top seed in the upcoming Big South Championships which will be held next week in Lexington, S.C.
The day began with the Buccaneers celebrating their three senior student athletes prior to the start of the match. The group is one of the most successful classes in school history, helping to lead the program to their second and third NCAA Postseason appearances in school history and a total of four Big South championships between the regular season and tournament titles. Additionally, the group entered the match with a collective overall record of 59-24 and 21-2 in Big South matches over their four years. The accomplishments that were read prior to the start of the match for each of the student-athletes can be found below.
The Buccaneers got out to a slow start in the match, dropping the doubles point. The duo of
Noa Boyd and
Amila Jusufbegovic did prevail in the topflight, claiming it by a 6-4 scoreline.
In singles, Charleston Southern got rolling claiming all six matches by straight sets. Di Staulo won 6-1, 6-1 at #6 which was followed by Brena Yoris' 6-2, 6-3 win at #5. Boyd claimed hers 6-3, 6-2 on court #3 and
Marina Skegro clinched the team's victory 7-5, 7-5 at #2. The day came to an end with
Emmie Moore winning 6-3, 6-4 on the #1 court followed by Jusufbegovic capping off the day at 6-3, 7-6 (4).
Charleston Southern will now begin their preparations for the 2025 Big South Championships. This year the tournament will be held in Lexington, S.C. at the Lexington County Tennis Complex. The semifinals for the event will be held on Friday, April 18 and the finals on Saturday, April 19.

Our first senior to be recognized is
Noa Boyd. She currently holds a total of 86 career dual wins in her career with 43 coming in both singles and doubles. Her singles win total ranks seventh in school history while her doubles total ranks fifth. She stands in fourth in career doubles win percentage and seventh in singles win percentage. In conference play, she has been just as dominant, holding a singles record of 14-2 and doubles of 15-4 with each of those winning percentages also coming in near the top of the school record books. Noa has been named All-Conference in both singles and doubles all three years she has been with the Buccaneers becoming just the second in program history to do so. With another selection to each team this season, she would become the first player in CSU history and fifth in Big South history to earn All-Conference honors in both singles and doubles for four years. Additionally, this fall she won the Big South Women's Doubles Individual Championship and went on to rep the league and play at the ITA Conference Masters Tournament. Ladies and gentlemen,

Our next senior to be recognized is
Kassandra Di Staulo. This past Friday, she collected her fiftieth career victory with her doubles win at UNC Asheville. She has gone on to become one of the most successful singles players in program history during her time with the Buccaneers. Entering today, she holds a record of 32-8 for an 80% winning percentage, the third highest in school history. Even more impressively, she stands at 14-0 in conference singles matches and is on the verge of becoming the first player in program history to finish their career with an undefeated conference record in singles play. Following the spring of 2023 she earned First-Team All-Conference. In doubles, Kass has compiled an 18-11 career record with a mark of 7-1 against league opponents. Ladies and gentlemen,

Our final senior to be recognized is
Amila Jusufbegovic. She enters today with a career singles record of 43-20 and is tied for 7th all-time in singles victories and singles win percentage in CSU history. In conference matches, she holds a mark of 14-1 which ranks second in program history for winning percentage in Big South matches. In doubles, Amila has been equally impactful, posting a 38-24 record with her wins total ranking tied for sixth in school history and winning percentage at eighth. She is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection for singles and two-time Second-Team All-Conference selections for doubles. Ladies and gentlemen,
