Charleston Southern Signs Final Member of their 2025 Recruiting Class

CHARLESTON, S.C. – With the remaining open spot in their 2025 recruiting class, Charleston Southern Men's Basketball announced its final addition this afternoon: D'Ante Bass (Alabama State).

D'Ante Bass | Forward | 6'6" | Savannah, GA | Alabama State

Bass spent two seasons in Montgomery, Alabama as a member of the Alabama State men's basketball program. This past year, Bass was a part of a 20-win team who won the Southwestern Athletic Conference and played in two NCAA tournament games. Bass played in all 36 contests during his redshirt-sophomore campaign and started in five of those contests. His best performance came against Texas Southern (Mar. 13) when the Savannah, Georgia native scored 16 points and nearly secured the double-double with 8 rebounds. In a December match-up against the SEC's Missouri Tigers, Bass saw an impressive 25 minutes of playing time. In his eventual last game as a Hornet, Bass hauled in a season-high nine rebounds in 23 minutes of playing time against the Auburn Tigers in the NCAA tournament.

After scoring 32 points in only 2 contests, Bass elected to medically-redshirt his true sophomore season (2023-24) at Alabama State.

Before his time in Alabama, Bass played for Head Coach Patrick Ewing as he spent his freshman year with the Georgetown Hoyas. As a Hoya, Bass played in eight games.

Just down the road from Charleston, in Savannah, Georgia, is where Bass spent his high school basketball days. As a senior at Windsor Forest High School, Bass averaged 13.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, earning the Region 3-AAA Player of the Year award. Also as a senior at WFHS, Bass led the program to a state championship victory where he recorded an impressive 22-point and 10-rebound double-double outing. On the AAU circuit, Bass played with the nationally recognized Atlanta Celtics organization, a program that has molded countless high school hoopers who saw their NBA dreams come true.

"We are excited to add D'Ante to our recruiting class. He was exactly what we were looking for in our last spot. He's a rangy wing with good athleticism and skills. He provides us with another guy that can make shots from the perimeter who also has versatility on the defensive-end. Additionally, his experience at the high-major level and in the NCAA tournament gives us a lot to be really excited about regarding his potential," said Head Coach Saah Nimley.
