GREENVILLE – The Charleston Southern Men's Cross Country competed at the Furman Invitational on Saturday morning and finished in third with 67 points behind event champions, Furman, and runners-up, Clemson.
Griffin Gillespie was the top finisher for the Bucs in the morning and claimed tenth overall with his time of 19:19.99.
Martin Iriondo and
Caleb Kenyon went back-to-back taking 12
th and 13
th with times of 19:26.20 and 19:27.61.
Hayden Goode ran a time of 19:28.32 and
Micah Gilpatric rounded out the scoring five with his time of 19:58.77.
Lin Scott and
Andrew Cleland completed the top seven for the Bucs with their 30
th and 34
th place finishes with times of 20:06.88 and 20:17.75. Other members of the squad that ran under 20:30 included
Jack Medina (20:20.63),
Mason Raasch (20:21.40),
Earlon Baker (20:23.04),
Jeff Wedding (20:29.14) and
Zach Mickler (20:30.80).
The Buccaneers will travel to Columbia, Missouri for the Gans Creek Challenge for their next meet. The meet is scheduled for Friday, September 26 with the men's and women's teams to take part in it.
