CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charleston Southern goalkeeper Avery Mason was named the Defensive Player of the Week, the Big South announced today.
This marks the first Player of the Week award in Mason's career.
The Andover, Kansas native tallied a career-high seven saves on 23 shots in Charleston Southern's scoreless draw against Davidson on Sunday. The sophomore made four saves in the first half and three in the second, including a save at the doorstep in the 89th minute to maintain a clean sheet and preserve the tie. The shutout marks Mason's first of 2025 and second of her career.
Also nominated for Defensive Player of the Week: Camila Lezcano (Gardner-Webb), Campbell Stoll (UNC Asheville), Catarina Dantas (USC Upstate) and Emma Milliron (Winthrop).
