Price, Gillespie Each Break School Records at Clemson Invite

CLEMSON, S.C. – Charleston Southern Men's Track and Field had their first meet of 2026 on Saturday with them making the trip to the upstate for the Clemson Invite. There were a pair of school records broken at the meet with Griffin Gillespie taking the 1K and Aden Price breaking the 300m time.
 
Griffin Gillespie won the 1K at the meet and broke the school record with a 2:26.96. The time also ranks as the 8th best in the history of the Big South. Kaden Kleinhen also ran in it and set a new personal best with a 2:30.71. Later in the day, Aden Price broke the school and conference records in the 300m with a time of 33.30 taking eighth in the event.
 
The day began with the Bucs running five people in the 5K with Lin Scott leading the group of CSU performers with a 15:05.84 for third overall. William Reid and James Tyler had times of 15:24.56 and 15:29.62 in their indoor debuts.
 
Jayden Anderson made his collegiate debut at the meet and in his first 60m hurdles, he ran a time of 8.52. The time ranks as the ninth fastest in school history. Hunter Adams ran in the 600m for his debut and had a time of 1:22.46 which is the second-best time in program history.
 
In the one mile, Collin Kleinhen and George Rowland had the best times among the CSU entrees with a 4:22.45 and 4:24.69. C. Kleinhen also had the fastest time of the Bucs in the 800m with a 1:57.77. Rounding out the distance groups, Rogan Arriaga and Andrew Cleland were the top finishers for the team in the 5K with times of 8:43.89 and 8:46.95 for fourth and fifth.
 
Odin Ferency had the top mark for the team in the shotput with a best throw on the day of 15.21m  (49' 11") for fourth in the field. Tarrell Miles and Landon Fuller also threw with their best heaves being a 14.13m and 13.67m. Miles recorded a big 16.40m in his debut in the weight throw with Ferency having a personal best throw of 15.27m.

The day came to an end with them fielding a team in the 4x400m and claiming fifth in it. They had a 3:16.46 for the seventh-best in program history.
 
The Buccaneers will enjoy a weekend off before returning back to Clemson on the weekend of January 23-24 for the Orange and Purple Invite.
