ORLANDO, FLA – Charleston Southern dropped their lone contest of Day Two at the SpaceU Classic on Saturday by a final score of 4-1 to Ohio.
 
The Bobcats tallied two runs in the top of the first off a two RBI single. In the bottom half of the inning, Maddie Lee singled up the middle when the bases were loaded for an RBI with Jordyn Dimond scoring from third and to cut the deficit to 2-1.
 
Ohio had an RBI triple in the second to bump their lead back to two runs. In the fifth, they scratched another across off a sacrifice fly to place the final score for the day at 4-1.
 
The Bucs finished the day with three hits with Dimond, Lee and Emma Smith each having one. Riley Lauffer started in the circle for the squad and threw the first 4.1 innings. Brenna Conley entered in the fifth and threw the final 2.2 without allowing a run to score as she issued just one walk across her nine batters faced.
 
Charleston Southern returns to face RV/RV Penn State and the tournament hosts, RV/#25 UCF on Sunday. They will face the Nittany Lions at 9 a.m. and the Knights at 1 p.m. with both games to be available live on ESPN+.
