CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern dropped their midweek contest at The Citadel on Tuesday evening by a final score of 14-6. The Bulldogs had five home runs in the contest.
The Buccaneers had a pair of two run home runs on the night for their six runs.
Chandler Tuupo had the first of the two in the first inning for an early 3-0 lead. In the fifth,
Alex Marot had one of his own, cutting the team's deficit to 7-6. The Citadel went on to tally seven in the bottom of the sixth, putting the game out of reach.
Caden Wolfley and Tuupo led the team with three hits apiece. As a team, they had nine hits total. Tuupo and Marot each had three RBIs.
On the mound,
Zach Stichweh started and threw the first 2.2 frames and collected four strikeouts. The Bucs used
Jack Bunnell,
Tyler Henshaw,
Drew Dawson and
Christian Krause on the mound as well through the middle of the game.
Drew Brown had the final 2.0 of work and retired all six batters he faced with three strikeouts.
Charleston Southern is back in action this weekend to travel to USC Upstate. The series gets started on Friday, April 10 at 6 p.m. with the game to be available live on ESPN+.
