Charleston Southern Takes Best Finish in a Decade in Final 2025-26 Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern closed the 2025-26 athletic year with its best finish in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings since 2015-16. They placed 210th nationally with 63 points in the final rankings released earlier this summer by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

The finish of 210th marks Charleston Southern's highest Directors' Cup placement in a decade when the Bucs finished 183rd in 2015-16 which is the second-best in school history. Additionally, this year's placing is the fourth-best in department history as they were 168th in 2001 and 208th in 1996.

This year, the Buccaneers were able to register postseason appearances in women's tennis and women's outdoor track & field. The tennis program finished tied for 33rd nationally while the track & field program was tied for 35th.

The Directors' Cup measures overall athletic department success across the academic year, tracking results from the fall, winter and spring seasons. Points are based on each program's finish in NCAA Championships, with schools counting their five required sports — men's and women's basketball, baseball, women's soccer and women's volleyball — along with their next-highest 14 scoring sports, regardless of gender.
