CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern volleyball's Brynn Minter was recognized by the Big South Conference on Monday, earning the league's Freshman of the Week honor for the third consecutive week following the Buccaneers' conference-opening match against Presbyterian.
Minter continued her standout freshman campaign by recording a double-double in her first career Big South match, finishing with 16 kills and a career-high 14 digs in CSU's conference opener. She also added a service ace and led the Buccaneers in points for the 10th time through the team's first 14 matches of the season.
The freshman outside hitter reached double figures in both kills and digs for the sixth time this season, while her 14 digs marked a new career high. Minter's 16 kills also represented her 10th match this season with at least 10 kills.
Minter added another service ace to her season total, a category in which she currently ranks second in the Big South. Her continued production from the service line has complemented an offensive attack that has made her one of the conference's top-performing freshmen through the opening weeks of the season.
With one week of conference play under their belts, the Buccaneers now turn to their next two opponents: at Winthrop (October 2nd at 6:00 PM) and at Gardner-Webb (October 3rd at 4:00 PM).
