NASHVILLE, TENN. – The Ohio Valley Conference named the winners of their weekly awards on Monday morning. The Buccaneers' Baxter Pearce was selected as the Freshman of the Week for the league following his standout performance.
 
Pearce tallied 10 punts in the team's loss at Georgia Southern on Saturday. He tallied 418 total yards on his kicks for an average of 41.8 per punt. He had a long of 55 which happened twice in the game and had a pair of punts get downed inside the 20-yard line. The average per punt and single punt long each mark career bests in his early college career.
 
Charleston Southern is back in action next weekend with them making the short drive down I-26 to face crosstown rival The Citadel in the Lowcountry Boil Bowl. The kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Johnson Hagood Stadium and will be available live on ESPN+.
