Emilie Selvidge enters her third season with Charleston Southern ahead of the 2025 season. In January of 2024 she was promoted to be the team's assistant coach after arriving in the summer of 2023 as a graduate assistant.
In December of 2023, she was named to VolleyballMag's “College Coaching Hotshot” list. This listed the top 50 up-and-coming coaches in the country across men's and women's college indoor and beach programs with Selvidge being amongst these honorees.
Prior to her arrival in Charleston, Selvidge spent four years at Florida College, where she was a member and captain of the volleyball program. With the Falcons as a student-athlete, she was selected the CAC Setter of the Year in her final two seasons, earning First-Team All-Conference honors in each. During the fall of 2022, under Head Coach Carry Brown, she helped lead the team to their first NAIA CAC Championship and was selected as an NAIA All-American Honorable-Mention. The team finished with a 28-10 record, the most wins in the five years under Brown.
Additionally, Selvidge holds the program record at Florida College with 2,356 career assists. She ranked first in the CAC in assists for the 2021 and 2022 seasons as well posting 1,119 during her senior campaign. She set her career-high in assists with 51 against Union College on August 20, 2022.
Selvidge graduated from Florida College with her bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2023. She added another honor to her academic collection in May of 2025 when she completed her master’s degree in Project Management from Charleston Southern.
