Kierra Ward joined the Charleston Southern athletic staff in June 2024 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Ward's primary sport responsibility at CSU is with the volleyball team. She comes to the Buccaneers after spending the 2023-2024 season at Vanderbilt working with the women's basketball team.

She received her Master's of Science in Athletic Training in May of 2023 from the University of Georgia. While there she gained experience working with the women's basketball, track and field and football programs. Additionally, she spent time in the high school level during her schooling as she worked with Clarke Central High School.Â

Ward received her bachelors of science in health and human performance from Albany State University in 2019. While there, she was a member of the women's basketball team, being a consistent contributor to the squad each of her years in the program. Ward is a member of NATA, SCATA and the Southeast Athletic Trainer's Association and has an EMT certification. In the summer of 2025, Ward completed the Integrative Dry Needling Foundations Course for Neurological Dry Needling for Pain Management and Sports Rehabilitation.
