"I think it's an accurate assessment (that Liberty played harder). In order to build our team into a championship program, it's going to take unbelievable effort, 365 days a year. We need to work relentlessly, 24 hours a day, and we did not do that tonight."

On the season-best performance from Kelvin Martin:
"Kelvin Martin plays with a championship effort every day. His effort was good enough to win tonight, but our team did not follow."

On the effect of the loss on the team:
"This loss affects us. We have to bounce back. But it's not so much that we lost the game. It's the fact that the next step for this team is to realize what kind of effort it takes to win consistently. You can't concentrate on Thursday and not on Saturday. This was a performance that was not up to the standard we set for our team."

On his teams chances Tuesday against Radford:
"We have competed with everybody in our league. We have beaten every team in the league except Coastal Carolina, Liberty and Gardner-Webb. We have the ability to compete against any team in the league on a given night."
