Senior Jesse Cadenhead got the start and the win in the second game of the doubleheader, pitching his second complete game of the season. Cadenhead tied his career high by striking out nine WU batters. He gave up just three runs off of six hits.

Chinners took another step closer to CSU history, going 1-for-5 to fall a hit short of tying CSU's all-time record of 244 career hits. However, it was freshman Tomasovich who led the way by going 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Jaren Sustar was 2-for-4, crossing home plate twice, while Quattlebaum had two hits and drove in two runs. The Bucs had 12 hits and one error in picking up their second win of the afternoon.

The Eagles made it home in the bottom of the third as Cook scored on a wild pitch to put WU on the board at 3-1. However the Bucs wouldn't allow Winthrop to make the comeback, and added another run in the top of the fifth inning. Sustar singled to start things off, and then stole second before Tomasovich drove him home to put the score at 4-1 in favor of CSU.

Tomasovich took a base after being hit by a pitch in the top of the eighth while Still reached on a fielder's choice on the next play. Meier then singled to left field to drive both of them home, putting the Bucs up five at 6-1.
