PC slips past Bucs on Friday afternoon, 3-1

Box Score

CLINTON, S.C. – Four Presbyterian pitchers combined to hold Charleston Southern to five hits in a 3-1 win on Friday afternoon at the PC Baseball Complex.

CSU (18-34) got a third-inning double from Chris Singleton that led to the Bucs' only run and cut PC's lead to 2-1 at the time, but could not get going offensively as PC pitching combined to strike out 12.

The Bucs loaded the bases in the seventh, but reliever Ethan Wortkoetter was able to get Nate Blanchard to ground out to third to end the biggest CSU threat of the day.

PC's A.J. Priaulx had a leadoff double to spark two Blue Hose' runs in the second off of Bucs' starter Daniel Johnson (L, 4-6). Ryan Hedrick added a sacrifice fly. He finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.

PC outhit the Bucs, 9-5.

CSU's Evan Nations held PC scoreless over the final two innings.

CSU's season finale against PC is tomorrow at 1 p.m.
