High Point (7-7, 2-1 Big South) led wire-to-wire and by as many as 28 points to win its second consecutive game. CSU (6-8, 1-2 Big South) struggled offensively for the second straight game and saw any chance of a comeback disappear with an 11-0 Panther run early in the second half.
Proctor tallied 16 of HPU's first 20 points and had 19 of his career-high 29 in the first half. Fox recorded 15 of his 20 after halftime, including the Panthers' first eight points of the second half. CSU weathered Fox's surge to stay within 12 points on a Ty Jones layup with 17:35 remaining but HPU then ran off 11 straight markers over the ensuing 2:43 to take full control. Fox and Brandon Kamga threw down dunks to highlight the spurt, which ended with High Point ahead 53-30.
Cortez Mitchell paced the Bucs with a season-high 18 points in the loss.
How It Happened
- Kamga hit a three-pointer, Jordan Whitehead scored off a CSU turnover, Kamga dunked off another turnover and Fox jammed off another miscue during the Panthers' 11-0 second half run. Denny Slay capped the run with a jumper to give HPU a 53-30 advantage at the 15:09 mark.
- A 9-0 run later in the half provided HPU its biggest lead, 62-34, with 13:01 left. Ricky Madison had a pair of layups, including a three-point play, during that juncture. CSU came no closer than 19 the rest of the way.
- Paced by a pair of treys from Proctor, the Panthers jumped out to a 10-2 lead by the first media timeout. CSU hung around for much of the stanza but missed its first eight threes and could not find a rhythm against HPU's swarming defense. The Bucs started the game 6-for-22 from the floor before converting three of their final six shots of the period.
- HPU used a 15-4 run to build its biggest edge of the first half, 34-19, at the 1:30 mark. Christian Keeling hit two free throws and found Jamar Martin for a three just in front of the halftime buzzer to close the gap to 34-24 at intermission.
Inside the Numbers
- CSU was held below 60 points for the second straight game and fourth time this season.

- Proctor and Fox combined to shoot a sizzling 17-for-27 overall and 8-for-12 from beyond the arc. The duo combined for 50 points in a win over UNC Asheville last Tuesday.
