Box Score
Charleston, S.C. - After The Citadel (14-22) tied the game in the top of the ninth, Josh Litchfield hit a home run to give Charleston Southern (12-27) a 7-6 walk-off win on Tuesday night.
A walk led off the bottom of the ninth inning, but a popped up bunt and a failed stolen base attempt gave the Bucs two outs with no one on base. Josh Litchfield worked a 2-2 count before driving a ball deep and over the right field fence to end the game.
The Bucs had a one run lead as they entered the ninth after scoring three in the bottom of the eighth. A bases loaded walk and 2 RBI single from Aaron Miller gave CSU a 6-5 lead. The Citadel scored a run on a two-out RBI single to tie the game in the top of the ninth.
Prior to the last two innings, The Citadel had led the entire game. Back-to-back RBI doubles and a two run home run plated four runs in the top of the first. They added an insurance run in the sixth inning on a solo home run.
Until the eighth inning, the Bucs only offense was in the first inning. A Jason Miller double brought home the first run, and a ground out followed by a sacrifice fly plated two more. CSU trailed until their rally in the eighth inning.
