CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern's men's basketball team continues to churn out top talent that is making significant impacts in the European basketball circuit. Eight former Buccaneers made an impact over the last calendar season with leagues worldwide restarting after the COVID-19 pause last spring and summer.
Charleston Southern Hall of Fame member Kelvin Martin (Class of 2012, 2019 HOF Class) has been a force for Dolomiti Energia Trentino of the Italian Serie A league averaging 8.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game and appearing in 23 contest this season. His last time out, Martin scored nine points and grabbed three boards in 26 minutes of action. Martin and Co. face Brindisi in their next contest scheduled for May 5.
Mathiang Muo (Class of 2013) spent the abbreviated 2019-20 season with the South West Metro Pirates in the Australia State League where he averaged 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists and playing 27 minutes per contest. Muo recently signed with the Geraldton Buccaneers of the same league for the upcoming 2021 season where the next game is slated for May 1.
Cedrick Bowen (2015) has been a volume and efficient scorer for Alftanes of the Iceland D1 league averaging 21.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest in 15 games played. His last time on the floor saw Bowen go for 20 points and five rebounds shooting a blistering 8-of-10 from the floor in 27 minutes of action. Bowen's next scheduled game is April 30 at Sjallagrimur.
A 2019 graduate, Christian Keeling has played in 17 games for the Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks of England where he's averaged 17.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting .512 from the floor. His last time out Keeling scored 19 points and added nine rebounds and three assists in 40 minutes.
Travis McConico (2019) signed with the Starlites Basketball Club part of Malta's BOV League D1 after spending the 2019-20 season with the Jacksonville Giants in the ABA. McConico's been a part of an 8-0 season for the Starlites to this point of the season.
