Kansas Next on the Docket for the Bucs

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern baseball hosts Kansas in a two-game mid-week set on March 8-9. Tuesday's contest is slated for a 5:00 p.m. first pitch, while Wednesday's start time is set for 5:00 p.m. as well.

NINE IN TEN
Charleston Southern just got through a stretch where they played nine contests in 10 days. The action started with a four-game set with Delaware State, where CSU earned the sweep. Next on the docket was a mid-week clash with The Citadel, where the Bucs were able to make it five-straight wins.
 
Villanova stood as the next opponent for Charleston Southern that same week, as the Bucs continued the streak with another victory. CSU then welcomed Samford to Nielsen Field and took two of three from the Bulldogs to clinch their second series victory in three tries in the year. The Buccaneers ran off eight-straight in the span to move to 8-5 on the year.
 
SCOUTING THE JAYHAWKS
Kansas opened the year with a series win over Illinois, taking the first two of a three-game set. New Orleans stood as the next opponent, as the Jayhawks took the middle contest of three before falling to Missouri State in a single game. Kansas then took part in the Cambria College Classic, coming out 1-2 after losses to Michigan State and Minnesota before getting the best of Illinois for the third time this season.
 
UP NEXT
Charleston Southern will continue its homestand in its next affair, as they play host to Canisius in a weekend set spanning March 12-13. Saturday will see a twinbill with the first game being a nine-inning game and the nightcap being a seven-inning affair before the series finale Sunday. The double-header action is slated for a 1:30 p.m. start at Nielsen Field.
