Price and Beckwith Earn Big South Weekly Honors After Career Days at Orange & Purple Invite

CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern continued to claim more awards from the Big South on Wednesday afternoon with a pair of weekly honorees. The Buccaneers' Aden Price was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Laden Beckwith was named the Freshman of the Week.
 
Earlier this month, Price was named the Men's Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week after setting a school record and conference record in the 300m dash with a time of 33.30. This past weekend, he ran time of 21.33 in the 200m and a 47.96 in the 400m at the Orange and Purple Invite hosted by Clemson. Each of the times rank inside the school's top ten for the distances.
 
Beckwith began his collegiate track career this weekend at the Clemson meet and had a debut to remember. He advanced to the finals of the 60m dash and claimed second overall in the event. He recorded his fastest time in the event in the semifinals with a 6.74 for the fourth-best time in program history. He also ran on the 4x400m and distance medley relay squads at the meet.
 
Charleston Southern will now enjoy another weekend off in the coming days before traveling to Blacksburg, Virginia for the Doc Hale Invite hosted by Virginia Tech. The meet is scheduled to be held from Friday, February 6 through Saturday, February 7.
