CHARLESTON — Wednesday afternoon, the Big South Conference announced its newest Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week Award winner of the 2026 Spring season, Charleston Southern's Amike Botha.
Botha delivered a standout week, going a perfect 2-0 in singles play with a pair of impressive victories. She battled past NJIT's Hepcal in a gritty first set before pulling away decisively (7-5, 6-0), then showcased her poise in a tight matchup against Longwood's Di Bisceglia, securing a straight-set win (7-6, 6-4).
On the doubles court, Amike teamed up with her sister Carle to make a statement, cruising past NJIT's No. 2 duo of Menendez/Aydin with a commanding 6-2 victory.
The TennisBucs will suit up again on Friday, April 10th at 9:30 AMÂ against the South Carolina State Bulldogs.
