CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern battled back from giving up an early goal as the Lady Bucs (3-4-2) and the College of Charleston (2-4-2) played to a 1-1 draw after two overtime periods on Tuesday afternoon at Buccaneer Field.

College of Charleston came out the gates firing as less than 25 seconds into the game freshman midfielder Chrissy Caruso sent the ball into the back of the net off of a cross by Teryn Schuetz.

Charleston Southern was not able to account for a score in the first half but had a couple of chances to make something happen and kept the Cougars on their heels. College of Charleston had nine shots in the first half with five shots on goal, while the Lady Bucs had just four shots and three shots on goal.

The Lady Bucs were able to put one on the board and even the score in the 56th minute when sophomore midfielder Lindsey Trexler tapped a cross by Alyssa Clay past the outstretched arms of the Cougar goalkeeper Sarah Wiggers.

Neither team was able to gain the advantage through the next 34 minutes, or in either overtime, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.

The Lady Bucs will hit the road this weekend as they continue Big South Conference play at High Point University at 1 p.m., Saturday.
